About the General Overseer
Apostle Bendream Oderedo umukoro is the senior pastor and founder of practical Grace of God’s missions situated at No2, Mosheshe Estate [City of God] Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria. He is a man of so many parts, blessed and highly gifted in Singing, Dancing, Preaching, teaching, counseling, prophesying, and so much more. He is a general in God’s army, a father with a large heart and a mentor to so many.
Before the birth of the mission, he ministered in songs in Crusades during which a lot of souls where won for Christ. As he ministered in songs healing also took place via the help of the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Bendream Oderedo Umukoro is a man after God’s heart with the mission to encourage, inspire and propagate the Gospel of Christ to the nation of the earth for the transformation of every area of their lives. He is married to pastor Mrs. Omua Jennifer Umukoro and there are bless with three adorable children and so many adopted children all over the face of the Earth. He is well known as God’s own friend and Apostle of Great Grace.
About His calling
Apostle Bendream Umukoro (God’s own friend) as popularly known and called, got converted in 1984. This was at the Church of God’s Mission, Ejeyere branch, Warri, Delta State. Before this time, he was a fashion designer, highly creative, resourceful and ingenious, that the business grew locally and internationally. Inspite of the lucrative business, he did not allow this to separate him from the deep love of God and winning of souls for Christ, which was uppermost in his heart
While in Church of God’s Mission, he was a devoted and committed Christian, serving the Lord as a chorister and Sunday school teacher, under the tutelage of Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and other Men of God. It was during this period that in one of the visits of Late Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa, to the Church at the Praise Center, that the Lord singled him out to be prophesied upon about his calling and anointed for the service of the nations of the earth. Reluctant as a man naturally, coupled with youthful exuberance, he did not take the call seriously. Instead, preferred to serve the Lord in other areas, as singing, help ministry and other capacities. But, because the Lord has spoken, there is no man that can dis-annul what the Lord wills
In the year 1991, he left the Church of God’s Mission to serve under Reverend Pius Odioko( Jesus Dominion ), then called: Jesus Christ for the Masses, and in 1993, he served under Apostle (Dr.) David Jebba of the Living truth. All this while, his business together with his elder brother- Elder Thompson Umukoro, Prospered. It was not long that various and diverse revelations and prophesies, from different personalities began to flood in, confirming and reconfirming his calling. These confirmations included that of Elder Thompson and Deaconess Tessy Umukoro, Apostle David Jebba, Prince Thomas Edewor, Reverend (Dr.) Don Crum (Missionary, USA)
Since the Almighty God has the final say and there is no one that can refuse Him to have his way, his business started to receive the disfavour of God and His international link (Chyke international) became a pastor. His elder brother, Elder Thompson Umukoro, prevailed and persuaded him, to yield to God’s calling, comparing him to that of Jonah in the bible.
In 1997, he embarks on a long fasting and praying journey for ninety days by the help of the Holy Spirit. Finally, at the end of the tunnel, the birth of Practical Grace of God’s Mission was given on the 8th/10th of December, 1997 at his residence, No 4, Hope Street, Ugboroke with 27 adults in attendance. Since then, the church has grown from strength to strength.
